Watch "2007 Economic year  enterprisers, quality made in China is upgrading.

While back to pratical live, our local suppliers don't have the quality concepts at all. For example, a supplier made a samples for us for 3 years. But  the samples did't pass foreigner confirmation so far.  The supplier complained us requirement was too strict. Of course the foreigner engineers thought the chinese parts bad quality.

Every time when we pass the failure message about the samples to HQ, I feel shamed. It hurts my confidence for products made in China.

I hope the supplier can upgrade their quality .While it always saves some money ,then uses bad quality material or reduces some process.

Maybe this time the supplier will deserve for what it did. It made 400pcs roller.But when we run the roller for some times. The roller plastic layer wore off and broke. While the supplier answered the SCAR and said there was no running requirement in the drawing. It is too funny. If the roller were not running, it would be used to show. I decide to bring the supplier memory of it. I will reject the batch of goods.

I hope they can do some change in quality ideals.

Long time I don't come here.I know I have to write something.

This monday Purchaser Mike left our company. He resigned in morning and left at 13:00. Then about one hour later earthquake happened in Sichuan. In fact there is no any relationship between the two activties.

While for me, both of them make me unhappy.

Purchaser has to resign.Because last week he quarreled with Boss.

We have not released purchase order to local suppliers for 7 months. In 7 months, we often ask the supplier to quote for some parts. While after quotation, there will be no next step.

For resignation, I know what is effiency for foreign company.

After spring festival, Boss went to HQ to ask for some orders.Because sales of us didn't open local market.All company employees are free.

While Boss first time visiting was failure.He was back without saying anything.Then after two weeks later, he went to HQ again.Unfortunately the second time visiting was worse.

When he was in HQ and he was confident to tell us most possible that he would get the order.He asked purchaser communicated with local suppliers about the price. Then we contacted  with suppliers about the possible order and collected the price after bargaining hard.

But later Boss was back and similar to last time without saying anything.Then purchaser asked his boss in HQ and knew the result was not expecting. HQ asked us to update the drawing.

Of course another hand,the local suppliers phoned to us about the order beginning date. I can't tell how many times the same thing happens.

How do we face local suppliers? And how do we control supplier including quality management?

I am embarrassing.

Last noon, I had lunch with my colleagues. Meanwhile we talked about the protest resisting carrefour.

Our IT said the residents in Hefei had resisted Carrefour in there and it caused Carrefour shutting doors.And some guys stopped trucks at the gate of the supermarket.

I said those guys were ignorant and boring.

IT guy disagreed me immediately.He said it was patriotic instead of boring. We people in China should do so.

I expressed I could understand thinking of protesters.While I didn't accept the methods.

First,the guys went to protest instead of going to work. It would waste many time.Furthermore some guys drived truck there and it made trouble for traffic police. The truck wasted some petrol. This is Chinese money and enviroment. If you decided to protest. Why not you go through by foot?

Second,what  the Carrefour sell is 95% from China. And resistance will cause many Chinese suppliers losing. Of course I agree to protest it. But whether we have found supermarket to replace it?If we resist Carrefour and choose Wal-Mart. The result was same,was right? Who will be happy?USA.

Third, during the period of resistance, who would monitor the quality of the supermarket if we didn't let people in.Then who will guarantee the safety of food goods.Maybe they change the date label instead of making new products.About it, SD laughed at me. As a quality memeber,how could you have the opinions? It was a pratice problem we had met ever,right? Or why the restaurants in Peiking installed electronic eyes in workshops during olympic game period?

Fourth,I thought the protester should be very polite and in order. Otherwise it didn't help Chinese.On the contrary,it helped the Rioters and Enemy. Chinese Gorvernment is busy in dealing with the trouble.

So , In my opinions,we do protest in order and plan. Meanwhile we need apply corresponding to monitor.

My baby is very lovable.This Rat Year spring festival,I took him to my hometown. On the back train,many passengers told with him and said he was lovable. On Nanjing subway, there was a aunt who liked my baby very much and told her daughter that the baby was very lovely.The daughter said she should take the baby home if you liked him. It was one day before spring festival.

While my baby is pitiable as my other boys staying at hometown with grand parents. My wife and I always miss him and phone to hometown. Now he can pronounce in another end of phone line. Though I don't know what he say. I know he is happy. I am happy too.

I have a dream. One day I can always stay with my parents and my baby together without makeing money in outside.It will be a true happiness and fortune.

2008 CPPCC is over today.I had thought the stock indication would be up.

Unfortunately, I don't the sign. On the contrary,the indication drops rapidly.

I believe current Chinese government. On the another hand, I have to tight my belt to control my economic output in the next months. My investment will be lost 20 percent if I sell it now.So I decide to tight my belt to conquer the present hardness.

Snow plague was conquered. Lhasa riot was calmed. I believe stock market will be sunny in not-long future.

These days I cared for stock indication and didn't come here to write something.

The stock indication dropped heavily and I couldn't bear looking at it again. I wrote something about it.

I am a fresh man in investing. This year I begin to do do it. What I do is to find something to do instead of reading novels. As a man, I have to make more money to earn my family.Furthermore, I had a baby last year.I need make some milk money for her.  :)

2008 is a special year.At the beginning, we met snow plague. Then the stock indication drops heavily. I don't know what happen in next step.

Of course there will open 29th Olympic games in Beijing.

We have conquered the snow plague with Chinese government efforts. I hope the stock indication will be up.

Everything has two sides. Some people say ok. Some people say bad. For example I write articles in English.

Today I don't say my articles. I want to say package.

Yesterday We deliveried some goods to local customer.  The package was not appropriate.The goods are glass products and  FRAGILE. The guys in workshop put the products on a pallet and wrap them with transparent film. To be honest, the package is ugly and dangerous. It is not a professional package. Vegetable in market can't be packed like it. I took some photoes about the package and sent them to produce manager.

I  sent a file which was from our headquarter. There were an annotating words. Our customers evaluate our company also according to our deliveries. A first impression of our service occurs when unpacking. Packing type, content and its identification are our "visiting card". Our produce manager told me that he would asked his guys to upgrade the package in the future. I asked what opinions sales manage took about it? He said nothing.

Some people don't like my articles in English.

I don't want to explain something.I write here. First I want to release my pressure. Second I want to improve my English. Third I want to train my writing skills. If you don't like, it would none of your business.

I don't care whether you read it or not.

Last day, I visited a supplier again for issue.

The supplier provided us a cable. The cable is very easy to produce. Cut a cable and clamp terminals on the both ends. But the clamping force is required strictly. The first delivery was rejected for the strength NG. And second time it was checked strength NG in our headquarter. HQ asked the supplier to renew a batch.

But the supplier won't do and always searches excuse. The supplier said the requirement was beyond the industry standards and it hoped we could provide supporting. I said of course we supported them. But  the supplier is responsible for the problem and is active to think a solution.

One week ago, the supplier promised they would give a solution this Tuesday. But on Monday it didn't do anything except saying it was not the industry standard. I told the purchaser that we coundn't accept the excuse. it is not a problem of standard. We have express our requirement before releasing the PO. So fot the batch goods, the supplier must be responsible for giving a solution.

I remembered my fore-boss told me a word. Any problems in business can be solved by money. Yesterday I accompanyed purchaser to the supplier again. Arriving there, I directly went to the workshop. I told them to prepare some terminals and cable. I did the experiment with the supplier engineer and sales manager together. The result of the experiment indicated that the supplier could match the requirement if they used more strength to clamp terminals. Problem is that it spent the operators much more time and energy. And they won't buy a automatic claming machine for it. In another words, it won't spend more money on it.

Then we had a meeting. I confirmed the problem was not  and industry standard one.It was a balance problem between cost and quality .The supplier should solve it soon.Our purchaser said directly. If the supplier couldn't solve it in technology.it should solve it in business.

Supplier had agreed with us and promised on this Friday it would give a saying. Anyway it should spend money on it.

It is too tired. But we hope it will keep its words this time.

Today my wife will go to interview.

My wife have worked 8 years in present company. But the company was terrible.

After bearing baby, she is going to quit it.

Saturday she got a phone to ask her to interview today. But she had little experience of interviewing. She was very nervous yesterday. She asked me to take her to the company to have a look.  I didn't know the way and she didn't know it as well. Finally we walked around the area and didn't find the company.

Today  I printed the company map and suggested her to take taxi there. This afternoon,she will go there. I hope she will be good luck.

I complained my wife company to provident funds management center that it didn't pay provident fund for the employees in December 2007. One day later, the provident funds management center feedbacks me a email.The mail said they would push the campany to pay provident funds soon.

After one month, my wife told me the company didn't pay the provident funds yet. Then I passed a email to the provident funds management center again and asked them how about the pushing matter.  Very soon the center feedbacked me and told me not to worry. They were pushing the company and sent a pushing letter to the company.

Then a week later, I asked my wife about it. She told me that the company didn't do anything. What's more,the HR told them provident funds were not compulsory.So the company won't pay it. I was very angry. Shit is the HR.

I complained it to the provident funds management center again. One day later I got a polite feedbacking. The member of center told me to be easy.He had contacted the company responsibler and pushed him to pay it. Then approaching Spring Festival, all people went home. It might be next year,I thought.

After Chinese new year holiday, I asked provident funds management center about the status. A disappointing email was coming. The guy told me they couldn't enter the company for pushing because the company wouldn't let them in. After reading, I couldn't help laughing. What a stupid offical center!

I think my job by the thing. I am a Quality member. Sometime the supplier won't cooperate well, I have no way.But my boss don't care it. The boss always sayed what I hired you to do if the matter was easy to deal with?

Why not there is a guy saying to the offical center?

After Chinese New Year, I am working again.

Maybe there is no a big changing. I repeat those boring activities.

Headquarter compaint the batch goods were bad quality and asked us to replace them.And on 14th, Vilentine Day, GM gave us a email to discuss with local suppliers about replacement issues.

Last day I start working from holiday. I read the email and felt uncomfortable. I knew trouble was coming back. Purchaser Mike, start working as well from yesterday. He was more upset than me. When he went home, he didn't tell GM. Then another guy in his department, sent a email to him,meanwhile copied it to his boss,GM and HR.The mail said he left before he said good bye to GM,which was not according to the company policy. And the guy said he wanted to discuss something with Mike and but he couldn't find him. Mike felt gloomy yesterday.

Afternoon, we called to our supplier and talked about the issues of nonconformance.One supplier was glad to agree to help reproducing. And another supplier was making trouble. So we decided to go to visit it today afternoon.

These days it snows heavily in most Chinese south areas. Many people can't go home for spring festival because the heavy snow jamed the road home.

The normal tickets are hard to buy. Many people have to buy illegal tickets.We call it Huangliu ticket. Perhaps every year there are some people doing the business selling illegal tickets.

This year the problem is more terrible.Some people bought the tickets.But unfortunately the road was jamed for heavy snow.The bus or train can't go through and give up. Today one friend told me a story and it was a misery joke.

One guy spent more 200 yuan than normal price in buying 3 pieces illegal tickets. Then on the train starting day, the train was canceled for heavy snow. He had to return the tickets. But the 200 Yuan could be returned. So he lost 600 Yuan without doing anything. He was angry.

The stock indication drops down in these days.

Approaching to new year, I won't do anything except thinking new spring festival.

So above information is misorder.

Anyway may  friends have a good mood in spring festival.

This week I live in a worry and boring condition.

The Headquarter has passed me the fault reports about the parts we shipped to Switzerland. Almost all parts are detected nonconformance. The worst problem is galvanizing.

All steel parts have galvanizing problems. Some are detected too heavy about the coating thickness. The other are detected zinc spalled in the edge.

I know clear the parts have problems in galvanizing before they are produced. All sub-suppliers are small factories for galvanizing. They have even no ideal of quality control. The small factories galvanized some parts the coating thickness is less than 8 um. Maybe it is no problem. But asking them to galvanizing more than 10um, they are all not sure. What they can do is prolonging the galvanizing time and increasing the current.  But the result is not good. Some areas coating thickness is too thick and spalled. Swiss complain local parts bad quality.

We try to find some better quality galvanizing supplier in local districts.

But after calling 3 companys phone, I' m lost. The good quality suppliers are not galvanizing Zinc. They begin to galvanzing Gold and Silver. Or they don't galvanizing on the steel parts and they galvanizes on bronze and  copper. God,at last I contact one supplier. And our purchaser finds a galvanizing supplier too. And we have a talk.And we decide to have a look to those suppliers. We hope we can find a qualified supplier for galvanizing.

We know it is hard. But we have to find one. Otherwise it is no way.

Last  day I watch TV, a performance about team management. It is useful to share it.

Forming a team needs some factors. Thinking, Action and Cooperation.

For Chinese, many people think Chinese are polite. It is a polite and kind country.But on the contrary, we do not do well in Cooperation. For example, one person walked in the subway station and droped down his books from his hands.In China,maybe nobody helps him.  In France, there will many people go to help him in this condition. Helping each other is a kind of cooperation in office.

In many chinese companys, I saw some people drop a piece of small useless paper on the floor in the morning. You stand by to watch it frequently. Until being off, you will find nobody care it. Even someone saw it. He won't bend to pick it and throw it into rubish basket.

A problem is coming. How will you build your team?

To be honest, I have no idea. I meet the same question.When my desk calender droped down on the front my desk.My assistant never cared it. She played her computer without any reaction.

Strange.

I think in China team management there is a long way to walk.

Next time when I am going to recruit somebody.  I drop some books down at the gate of interview room. Those guys who stand by will lose all chances.

After working, I want to say something here.

Today we discussed the goods shipped to KGS with our boss. Most of defective parts are my fault. Nothing can be argued. Why? I am QC. It is my job.

Last friday, I attended our company annuary party. It is a crazy night. I can't remember how many wine and beer I drank. I guess everyone is boring of work in such a company. Under the conditions, all members release their pressure by drinking. I saw some girls drinking with bottles.

After the party,someone wins the biggest award.I am not sure the word award is ok. After all,he got some money. They some guy suggested to spend them on Somewhere. We went to a KTV.But the business is too hot. We waited in lind for a hour and we were boring of it. Then we quit it and went to a resturant to drink again.

After drinking, we went to have a bath. Then we played Majiang there. Because the alcohol effect,I didn't remember who played there and when someone said it was time to go home.Then some members went home one by one.

When I got up, I found only our vice president was staying there sleep.

How crazy it was!

From last day I began to study TS16949 and prepared to join in a company which produces parts corresponding to automobile industry.

Morning I read the article about APQP. Different people have different thought about it. For me, everyone has his/her reasons. Though I have no experience in the company which pushes TS16949 or QS9000. I am always working as Quality Member. Firstly I express my views.

Many people say APQP is a kind of ideal first. I agree with the oppinion strongly.

I remember I started to work after graduation. I worked as a quality engineer. But at that moment,I dIdn't know what a quality member should do except checking and inspection. We didn't have Research Design Department. The Engineering Department made the sample according to customers drawing. When the Engineering Member finished the samples and sent to QC inspection. Then QC checked the samples and stamped "QC pass". The Engineering Member took it back and sent to Sales Department. Finally the Sales sent them to customers for confirmation. The flow is for samples. The mass productions' flow is samilar. 

Of course the products are very simple. The samples are made by the talents in Engineering Department. So the quality of samples is good.But when the mass productions are produced,the problems happen one by one. The nonconformances are like the flood out of floodgate. QC can't stop it. Some nonconformances are detected by Customers and the customers complaints are coming.Then engineering member help QC to explain to the boss,"good products are made out by Produce Department instead of QC checking".

Quality is from producing instead of inspecting.This is a kind of quality ideal level.

The higher level is that quality is from designing instead of producing. Talking about the point, I think it is approaching APQP ideal. Of course APQP should be a systematic and scientical actions instead of making show. I am sure I have the ideal. Next step I will study the detailed actions.

After reading the techinical specification 16949.I think it is good if all manufacturers of China can push TS16949.

If all chinese manufacturers pass the TS16949,the quality of products made in China would go up a higher level.

Just like food and joy industry,Chinese gorvernment pay more attention on them recently. They put more force to monitor and control the safety and quality of food and joy. Of course they shall put all manufacturers on the same standard.Those who have a good and strong control level and techincal level will get the license to produce.While those who are bad quality will get out. So I believe they need not decrease the price to get market in the future. On the other hand,the Chinese manufacturers are not replacement of bad quality.

For other industries, I think the same ways will be used.While pushing TS16949 is a good way. If the company can't get the certification,it can't be approved by his customers. And every company tried to improve their quality.Quality control is action instead of saying.
