What responsibility QC takes for goods over deadline in warehouse?
Why do I ask such a question? I meet a problem about it. Last month we moved our warehouse and office. After moving and checking inventory,we detected there was a kind of material over deadline in warehouse. The material was imported from headquarter and very expensive. Since our use quantity is very small.While we import it too much. So far there are many stocking in our warehouse. Then I send email to Headquarter to ask how to handle them.
Headquarter gives me an answer "due to safety and functional reason, don't use them any more." It is too pity. It is a big money losing.
For the wasting, I ask myself what responsibility QC takes for it. To be honest, if QC audited the warehouse timely, they would detect the problems earlier. Then QC could feedback the information to corresponding departments. It might reduce the losing.
Of course the problem root cause happens in produce control. They shouldn't ask to purchase so much the material.While produce control applys purchaser requirement according to Sales demanding.Whether the sales department miss the market? I don't know. Another side warehouse keeper should feedback the stocking information to produce control when inventoring. All the procedures are not followed. So big problems happens in quality system. QC should feedback the failure information to quality management representative. But there is no quality managment representative in the subsidiary.
So how to prevent the problem happen again? I am a small gun. I can't arrange others. I can only say "it is too pity".
What I can do? I can feedback the checking information to General manager. I can report to GM what I see.But It is a little dangerous.
