EPA (ESD Protected Area)
An EPA is to be constructed in accordance with the requirements described in Chapter 8 table 2, so that there is minimal risk of damage to ESDS from electrostatic fields and/or discharges. The boundaries of a permanent EPA are to be defined and properly marked. No material used or activity performed with an EPA shall cause damage to ESDS.
Typical EPAs includ:
Incomming of goods, Fieldwork area, Storage facility, Laboratory, Manufacturing, Service location, Testing, Delivery.
